India issued an order on Saturday (14 March) in view of the danger of spreading the corona virus infection and closed all the land routes along the border with Pakistan indefinitely from midnight on 16 March. The Union Home Ministry has also closed most of the ground routes along the borders of Nepal, Bhutan, Bangladesh and Myanma from midnight on 15 March.
However, some routes will be open for people to visit. Passengers through these routes will be subjected to intensive medical examination. The Home Ministry has said in its order that this decision has been taken in view of the threat of Covid-19.
