The central government announced on Friday that with the inter-state travel, aircraft and train services suspended in the country, the lockdown will continue for the next two weeks from May 4 but the regions are classified as 'Red, Orange and Green Zone' Tax certain activities will be allowed.
An official statement said that the Ministry has issued an order to extend the lockdown for a period of two weeks from May 4 under the Disaster Management Act, 2005. The government order states that some activities will still be banned.
These services will remain closed:-
These prohibited activities include inter-state movement by air, rail, metro and roads, hospitality services including schools, colleges and other educational institutions, hotels and restaurants, cinema halls, malls, gyms and sports complexes.
According to the order, political, cultural events, gathering for the public will be prohibited and religious or worship places will remain closed during lockdown but movement of people by air, rail and road will be approved for selected purposes. Permission has been given by the Ministry of Home Affairs for this. The Ministry issued separate instructions for each zone.
The Ministry of Home Affairs has issued new guidelines for regulation of activities by categorizing the districts into 'Red, Orange and Green zones' on the basis of risk during the extended period of lockdown. According to the statement, the Union Health Ministry will share information about the classification of the zones in the districts on a weekly basis to the states and union territories.
What will open in the orange zone, will it be closed:-
Conditional Relief in Orange Zone during Lockdown
1. The driver will be able to travel in a cab and take a ride
2. Will be able to travel from one district to another with their trains
3. Shops will open in low transition areas with conditions
4. Salons and spas will also continue till May 17.
Broadly speaking, restrictions on buses coming from one district to another will continue. Taxi and cab services will begin. Prohibition on more than two riders. Shops of liquor, paan and gutkha will be opened.
What will open in the green zone, will it be closed:-
There will be a big relief in the green zone during the lockdown.
1. Approval to open factories, shops, small industries.
2. Bus can run with half ride conditions.
3. Religious places, hotels and restaurants will remain closed till 17 May.
4. 50 people will be able to go to the wedding and 20 to the funeral.
In short, it is permissible to open shops of every kind. Bus services will be started but only 50 percent of its capacity will be allowed to take passengers in these buses. Exemption for transportation of trucks and vehicles carrying all types of goods from one state to another. Shops of liquor, paan and gutkha will be opened.
