Lockdown extended to 31 May to combat Corona virus



The lockdown period applied to deal with the corona virus (covid-19) has been extended to 31 May.  The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) gave this information on Sunday (17 May) evening.  The NDMA said the lockdown period has been extended to prevent Covid-19 from spreading and new guidelines will be issued.

Directing the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) to increase the lockdown to the Government of India / State Government and State Authorities, it is stated that the lockdown in the country needs to be increased to prevent the spread of Covid-19.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi made it clear in his name to the nation on Tuesday (May 12) that the fourth phase of lockdown will start in the country from 18th and it will be completely redesigned.

However, he did not say anything about how much relaxation would be given in this phase.

 As part of the nationwide campaign against the Corona epidemic, full ban has been implemented across the country since March 25 and its three phases have been completed.  The first phase was from 25 March to 14 April, the second from 15 April to 3 May and the third phase from 4 May to 17 May.

First stage of lockdown:-

In the first phase, almost all activities were completely banned except for essential items.  Public transport was also completely closed.

Second phase of lockdown:-

In the second phase, with some relaxation, the supply of essential goods as well as the supply of non-essential goods was also allowed with certain conditions.  Accordingly, trucks etc. were also relaxed to go from one state to another.

Third phase of lockdown:-

In the third phase, the entire country was divided into three phases Red, Orange and Green zones based on the state of transition.  The Red Zone was also divided into Containment and Non Containment zones.

In the midst of the Corona crisis, the Railways has taken a big step.  There will be a partial restoration of the rail service from June 1.  Railways will start 200 passenger trains.  For this, booking will start from Thursday (May 21).  Booking will start from 10 am on Thursday on the IRCTC website.  Tatkal or Premium Tatkal will not be available.  Entry will be available at the station only when there is a confirmed ticket.

The UP government is doing a lot of work for the migrant laborers.  The first credit goes to the Yogi government of UP for bringing its laborers trapped in another state into lockdown from there. Now another decision of the Yogi government will provide relief to the migrant laborers.  The government has asked to make such a proposal that the migrant laborers who do not have a house should be provided a rental house for very little money.


Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh on Saturday evening said the coronavirus lockdown in the state will continue till May 31, though his government will lift the curfew restrictions.

"From May 18, there will be no curfew in the state. But the lockdown will be there till May 31," said the Chief Minister.


The date sheet for CBSE class 10 and 12 examinations will be released on May 18, HRD minister Ramesh Pokhriyal announced in his tweet on Saturday.


Taking a quick action, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has suspended SHO of Fatehpur Sikri Agra, SHO of Kosi Kala Mathura, with immediate effect on the horrific road accident (Auraiya road accident) in Auraiya.  Apart from this, strict warning has been given to the concerned Deputy Superintendents of Police and Additional Superintendents of Police.

CBSE will release the date-sheet for class 10 and class 12 today at 5 pm.
